White Pizza Garlic Delight

Ingredients

→ Garlic White Sauce

3 cloves garlic, finely minced or 3 teaspoons prepared minced garlic

 1 1/4 cups whole milk

1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/4 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese

 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

→ Pizza Toppings

1 pre-made or homemade pizza dough

2 tablespoons fresh basil, cut into thin ribbons

 1/2 teaspoon Italian herb blend

8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella, freshly shredded

 1 teaspoon olive oil

1/4 cup extra Parmesan cheese, freshly shredded

1/2 cup garlic Parmesan sauce (prepared earlier)

Steps

Heat unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until fully melted and beginning to bubble.

Add all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for 2 minutes to achieve a thick paste without allowing it to brown.

Gradually pour in whole milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Stir in finely minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper until the sauce is smooth and aromatic.

Add finely shredded Parmesan cheese, stirring until fully melted and integrated. Remove sauce from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Shape pizza dough on a baking surface, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle evenly with Italian herb blend.

Spread 1/2 cup prepared garlic Parmesan sauce over dough. Top with shredded mozzarella and extra Parmesan cheese for rich coverage.

Bake pizza in preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and lightly browned in spots.

Remove pizza from oven and scatter fresh basil ribbons across the surface. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  1. Let the white sauce cool slightly before spreading on dough for easier assembly and even coverage.
